Flexible around Internship Counsellors availability
Community Services is able to offer free counselling services to individuals in the community who do not have access to provided, subsidized or fee for service counselling.
The program is staffed by Masters level Intern students who provide service while fulfilling their qualifying practice hours. They are closely supervised by an experienced clinical supervisor. Counselling can address a range of issues, including but not limited to: Depression and anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, stress and illness, life decisions and transitions, improved coping skills, relationship concerns and issues, parenting challenges, enhancing self-esteem and planning for the future. Overall a brief solution focused approach is used in the program, but other modalities are also used as determined by need.
Residents of Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows who are not able to access or afford counselling and who are willing to be seen by Masters level student Interns. We are able to serve children, youth, adults and seniors. We also offer individual, couple and family counselling. We do request that sessions be audio or video recorded for quality assurance and supervision purposes but this is voluntary.
