Family Law Advocacy Program

Temporary Scope of Service

Family Law Advocacy can be reached via email or you can leave a voicemail at 604.467.6911 ext. 1249 as voice messages are checked regularly. At this time the Advocate is unable to print or physically  complete forms on your behalf.

Both the Provincial and Supreme Court are not proceeding with any trials or case conferences for family law that were scheduled between March 13 – sometime in May. The courts are also not accepting any court forms during this time. The Courts are only accepting and willing to hear urgent matters consisting of child protection, family violence matters, or urgent issues that must be determined relating to the well-being of a child. If you need an urgent protection order please contact the Advocate for assistance.

About Program
This program provides legal information, support and referral to other service providers. It also aims to promote access to justice and increase awareness about the justice system and other collaborative options. This program does not provide legal advice or legal representation in court hearings. Services include a range of legal advocacy relating to family law such as guardian ship and parenting time, child or spousal support, divorce and separation, protection orders, Family Maintenance Enforcement Program, child protection, and other.
