In 1995, the Board adopted its version of the “Carver Model” of governance. The approach is called “the Policy Governance Model of Board Leadership” The Board approaches its task with a style which emphasizes: Outward vision rather than an internal organizational preoccupation; Strategic leadership more than administrative detail; Clear distinction of Board and staff roles; Future rather than past or present; Proactivity rather than reactivity.
